Stephen Attong Endless Summer

May 7–21,  2021

“Attong’s photography captures the cinematic qualities of the summer—golden hour light, leisurely floating atop grass or water, the melancholy of a lost popsicle. The viewer is centred in these photographs, creating the sense that they’re the main character, looking at their surroundings from a slight remove, observing life and people as they exist within their own universe.

Attong’s series Endless Summer transports the viewer to a distinct season—but the images otherwise lack a time or place, allowing the viewer to project their own memory and nostalgia onto the photographs.” — Tatum Dooley
