A.K. Dolven

A.K. Dolven’s exhibition comprises of 5 large paintings can women think and four large format photographs from the south series. The stilled atmosphere of the photographs is echoed in the white on white paintings, slowly revealing a dialogue of suspended time or timelessness. Andrea Schlieker writes, “Dolven’s images are rich in visual and conceptural cross-references and interconnections. They oscillate between the hypnotic, trance like atmosphere of dreams or fairytales and the unmistakable evidence of a reality anchored in the everyday.”
