Magna Brava

The Magnum Photo Agency is one of the most respected photojournalist collectives in the world; however, it has always been a male-dominated group in a traditionally male-dominated industry. Thus, its women photographers have always provided a different perspective to that which is most commonly seen. Isolating images from specific projects by photographers Eve Arnold, Martine Franck, Maya Goded, Susan Meiselas, Inge Morath, Lise Sarfati and Marilyn Silverstone, Magna Brava encompasses the years since Magnum was established in 1947. From the unique perspective of women working as photojournalists, their photographs chronicle the diversity of the 20th and 21st centuries.
