A Collected View

A Collected View showcases the work of some of
Canada’s foremost
visual artists whose images address aspects of
Toronto’s
social and political development, its evolving
landscape, and
individuals who have made valuable contributions
to the city.
These photographs speak candidly of our urban
experience by
focusing on the city’s geography, as well as
specific relevant
issues such as homelessness, public housing,
feminism, architecture/
urban planning, amalgamation, arts and culture,
labour and
immigrant life. The exhibition is made possible due
to individuals
who donated photographs to the City of Toronto
from 1995 and
2005, and by the creativity of participating artists
whose work
enhances perceptions and understanding of our
city. Featured
artists include Robert Burley, Robin Collyer, Steven
Evans, Debra
Friedman, Pamela Harris, David Hlynsky, Vid
Ingelevics, Geoffrey
James, Michel Lambeth, Brenda Liu, Peter
MacCallum, Steve Payne,
Vincenzo Pietropaolo, Gerald Pisarzowski, Gilberto
Prioste, John
Reeves and Marcus Schubert. Curated by Steve
MacKinnon.
