Eritrean-Canadian photographer Dawit Petros is
rapidly
building a solid reputation for his dramatic portraits
of families
in their domestic environments. His work combines
diverse
elements drawn from hip-hop culture, cinema and
advertising
to examine issues of representation in a post-
colonial
landscape. The opening reception is held in
conjunction with the release party for Prefix Photo
13. The
exhibition is presented in association with Wedge
and is
supported by the Canada Council for the Arts.
