Sillas en la Universidad de Sevilla /
Chairs in the University of Seville

Initially, I was attracted to these chairs for their
colour and form. I was then struck by the visual
contrast of these modern chairs existing within a
fifteenth century structure. As my eyes traced their
various positions in the halls and
courtyards of the university, I imagined previous
encounters between the chairs and the students
who had left them there. Finally all these elements
came into play with light, and I made a
photographic study of the life of these chairs.

This exhibition takes place in the Members Gallery
and is not an exhibition juried by Gallery 44.
