BEAUTY AT THE END OF THE SEASON
In Toronto-based artist Suzy Lake’s latest work the
mature roses in the artist’s backyard stand in for
the human form that has been at the core of Lake’s
work for more than 35 years. Making her mark in
the early 1970’s by using the self as subject Lake
has been resolute in the gendered and conceptual
approach to her seminal photo-based art practice
from then to now.
