Imaging Culture: Photography in the Royal Ontario Museum

LECTURE AND EXHIBITION:
The Royal Ontario Museum has many unique
collections of photography that are largely
unknown. Brian Musselwhite, assistant curator in
the Department of World Cultures, European
Collection, talks about the history of photography.
Arthur Smith, librarian, discusses vintage
photography in the ROM’s rare book collections,
including Curtis, Eickemeyer, Notman and the rare
early photography journal Camera Work. Jack
Howard, H.H. Mu Far Eastern librarian, explores
the ROM’s East Asian photographic collections.
