Surendra Lawoti Don River

This exhibition explores the transient nature of environments and how they are shaped by memory. Surendra Lawoti’s Don River series documents displaced residents and locals who occupy the Don River Valley shores in Toronto. His large-scale images focus on makeshift shelters along the river, and the people who use the surrounding green space. Through these individuals, we begin to understand the landscape as a non-permanent home and public space.
