Susan Kordalewski Space vs. Place

Space vs. Place explores perceptual transitions between three-dimensional and two-dimensional space. Working from a memory of home, Susan Kordalewski creates two-dimensional representations within three-dimensional locations that are then photographed. These images differentiate space from place, and memory from lived experience. The layering of location and dimension–along with the inherent qualities of the photographic image–blend time and space in much the same way as memory.
