Chris Boyne Stillwater

Chris Boyne’s Stillwater intermixes a narrative sound recording with colour landscape photography. The work documents an event that happened in 1952, when Boyne’s grandfather, while hunting for deer, accidentally shot and killed a man who was out in the woods with his son. The photograph shows the “scene of the crime” as it exists today: a grassy hill before a forest, bearing no trace of the incident.
