Carm Griffin, Judy Griffin In The Eye of The Beholder

May 1–Jul 2,  2012

“Beauty in things exists merely in the mind which contemplates them.” — David Hume. Sensing beauty in something creates an attraction or emotional draw, perhaps because of the object’s harmony with nature, perfection, or sheer uniqueness. It is said that beauty is “in the eye of the beholder”; a subjective experience of pleasure and personal emotion. Beauty may be rugged, delicate, dramatic, or purely simple. Perhaps one can never articulate its attributes, but it resonates within oneself.
