The Canadian National Exhibition Midway is both timeless and unlike any other place. Nobody lives there, and nothing is permanent, so everyone and everything is rootless—what visitors see exists for only as long as they are looking at it. It’s a dream world that way, for as long as one is part of it. Kudelka’s photographs depict this dreamy world of the midway on a summer night.
