Tina Stuart Trees

Historically, trees have been ever-present in folklore and legend. They symbolize tranquility and peace as well as an ominous threat. The mythic tree of life is described with roots buried far beneath the earth and its branches reaching high into the sky, bridging the material world with the supernatural. The images in this exhibition depict the artist’s understanding of the ethereal splendour of trees, representing life and fertility, strength and protection, immortality and rebirth.
