Lora Moore-Kakaletris Dark Waters

Inspired by the mystery and momentary escape from reality that submerging oneself in water allows, the Dark Waters series began in the artist’s backyard pool. Viewers are challenged to reach deep in themselves and venture into the unknown like the subjects in this series, whose actions are symbolic of releasing hidden fears. The subjects either stand amidst the darkness, fearless, defiant, and strong, or they dive into it, unafraid and willing to tackle their fears straight on.
