Radha Chaddah Exodus

May 15–31,  2017

Exodus is a photographic exhibition of cells grown from human skin. Cell biologists have discovered how to transform normal skin cells into embryonic stem cells. Chaddah grew these cells in a laboratory and fed them a diet that changed them into neural stem cells, and then brain cells like neurons and astrocytes. Using fluorescent antibodies, Chaddah stained the cells to allow visualization of their internal skeletons. Exodus explores the rise of science as religion.
