Beneath Toronto lies a network of tunnels used daily by over 200,000 people. This documentary photography exhibition examines social issues that are emphasized in this enclosing space, including wealth and health disparities, consumerism, the frenetic pace of urban working lives, the pains of loneliness, and the unease provoked by constant surveillance. This somewhat surreal environment is accentuated over 24 hours as it cycles from extreme activity to virtual abandonment—a metaphor for our consumer culture.
