La Playa is an outdoor exhibition of a 28-foot-long vinyl banner and part of Gustavo Jabbaz’s ongoing series Moments.
Moments is a series of fragmented, panoramic images of people. Jabbaz picks busy spots and shoots people walking in front of his lens over time. Then he makes long collages using the photographs he captured, making them more active and dense than in reality. Playing on people’s perceptions of the various spots and at the same time displaying people in mundane activities makes for very engaging images that allow the viewer to imagine their own stories.
