Tenzin Dorjé Everyone Rides a Bicycle in Heaven

May 1–31,  2022

On May 12, 2004, Galen Kuellmer was struck and killed while riding on Dupont Street near Dundas West. A ghost bike was installed at the intersection by Advocacy for Respect for Cyclists. A mural with one of Kuellmer’s photographs was also painted along the underpass with the motif of a bicycle in his memory.

The memorial bike has since been removed and the mural was vandalized in 2021. This exhibition is of Kuellmer’s mural before it was destroyed and is installed on a billboard right above where he was struck and killed.

The billboard can be viewed from the north side of the three-way intersection where Dupont Street, Dundas West, and Annette Street meet.
