Mahsa Alikhani Tradition and Revolution
May 1–10, 2023
Tradition and Revolution is the narrative of the emotional experiences of Iranian women before their revolutionary movement, known as “Women, Life, Freedom.” The belief or vision of liberty that prepared them for living without any conventional and cultural constraints and even Islamic rules was the beginning of the most effective movement in the last hundred years of Iran.
These images are historical and social documents of differentiating between Iranian women’s beliefs and the paradoxical government rules that turned the silence of Iranian women into a revolutionary movement to realize their ideals.
