Margaret Gdyczynski Ephemeral Light

This exhibition is about noticing transient light in frequented spaces like coffee shops. Natural light is fleeting while indoor lighting feels permanent and reflective. We experience the spaces we inhabit differently depending on how the light affects us. These experiences feel shortlived, impermanent, and even volatile but if one takes the time to notice the light, it can alter states of mind, change moods, or shift perspectives.

Gdyczynski’s method of capturing light is created first with a camera and then layered digitally with multiple exposures to create a single impression.
