“Stephen Attong’s Dovetail honours the unique tether that develops between partners when grief walks into one’s life unannounced. It reflects on moments of loss and how they change the basis of our interconnectedness. Until this show, Attong hadn’t considered grief’s impact on his photo practice. As artist Jonathan Lyndon Chase writes in his book Wild Wild West, ‘Grief never ends.’ Lucky for us, we have flowers that bloom, animals that sprint through freshly cut grass, and hands we can hold.”
