Yuri Dojc, Amy Friend SPOTLIGHT Photography

Galleria Speducci launches with the exhibition SPOTLIGHT Photography, featuring series by two internationally-renowned Canadian photographic artists: Human Contact by Yuri Dojc and Dare alle Luce by Amy Friend. Showcasing these artists’ remarkably different but equally poignant takes on photographic portraits in our multifaceted culinary, social, and now cultural gathering place aims to bring people back together, face-to-face.

Yuri Dojc’s expansive practice as a photographer, artist, and witness encompasses many kinds of looking. His multi-lens trajectory has pivoted from an established commercial photography practice to his current gaze as an artful observer of the vestiges of history’s most vulnerable.

Amy Friend is a Canadian artist working with various methodologies through photography, installation, and community-based collaborations. She is also Chair of Visual Arts at Brock University.
