Victoria Laube My Sad and Beautiful Laundry
May 1–15
The work in this exhibition explores what was a complicated relationship between a mother and daughter. So aptly displayed on the walls of a laundromat, it is about dumping the hamper, looking at the soiled fabric, sorting the lights, the darks, the delicates and the sturdy pieces; then doing the cleansing. It is about those conversations that never occurred, those necessary to clean away judgment, criticism and blame. It is about stopping the spinning cycle of guilt, looking for the treasures left behind, and accepting the fact that fabric wears out and laundry never comes out spotless.
Artist present daily from 1 to 3pm.
