This showcase features the work of Vonny Lorde, shot exclusively on FP100C film, an expired, out-of-production 3.25 x 4.25” Polaroid film, between 2023 and 2024 in Toronto, Montreal, New York, Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka.

Instant, unfiltered and unpredictable, imperfection is more rule than exception. These portraits were taken with the explicit intent of documenting Black joy.

Here in this collection: the pride of achievement, the purity of love, and rarity of joy find themselves alongside one another in celebration of mere existence in Black personhood.
