Published by 10×10 Photobooks and edited by Russet Lederman and Olga Yatskevich, Flashpoint! presents a survey of more than 245 photobooks, zines, posters, pamphlets, independent journals and alternative newspapers that address protest and resistance from the 1950s to the present.
A touring reading room exhibition showcasing a hands-on selection of the printed matter in Flashpoint! launches at CONTACT in May 2025. Presented thematically, the reading room will also include a selection of community zines specific to the festival.
– We seek PHOTO-BASED ZINES ONLY. Zines that do not include photography will not be considered.
– A selection from the photo-based zines submitted will be included in the reading room on a rotating basis. Priority will be given to Canadian submissions.
– Please note that submitted zines will not be returned and submission does not guarantee inclusion.
– Selected zine-makers will be notified of inclusion by May 1, 2025.
About 10×10 Photobooks: 10×10 Photobooks is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization with the mission to foster engagement with the global photobook community through an appreciation, dissemination and understanding of photobooks.
