re-surfacing

Since its conception, photography has been used as
a tool for preserving the past. Traditions built
around the photograph have come to determine ways
of reading these objects of memory. The artists in
this exhibition explore these traditions while
expanding on the physicality of the photographic
object itself. In these works, different readings
of the photograph elaborate on the conventions of
photography to attain a more vivid experience of
the past.
