Before the Money is an exhibition that explores the visual remnants of “Old Toronto” through street photographs taken across the city over the past 10 years. The work included in the exhibition was shot on film, and showcases a side of Toronto that is quickly being forgotten. As investment has flowed into the city, its grittier side has been glossed over and the uniqueness of many neighbourhoods has been replaced with a generic, banal “niceness.”
