Northern Canada is a vast landscape visited by few, and understood by even fewer. A frontier for foreigners, a home and place of identity for the many Indigenous who live there, as well as a growing immigrant population. This show gives two perspectives on Nunavut, Canada’s least populated territory, with the purpose to educate some on the challenges living there, the beauty of the land, and a view into a place few may get to visit.
One perspective by an outsider: David Akio who spent time there last year and was blown away by the stunning landscapes and friendly people.
The second perspective by somebody who currently calls Nunavut home: Murielle Jassinthe. Originally from Quebec, with Haitian background, Murielle has lived in Nunavut for the last 10 years.
