Stephen Della Casa Beasdell Boulder

Stephen Della Casa’s exhibition examines themes of displacement, resilience, and identity through the perspective of the Bleasdell Boulder, a massive glacial erratic. Dislodged from a landscape of belonging during the ice age, the boulder now sits in an unfamiliar environment, its texture and colour identifying it as an outsider. The photographs capture the tension between its enduring presence and the forces that uprooted it, inviting viewers to contemplate the resilience required to adapt to new contexts. Through rich visual detail, Della Casa emphasizes the boulder as a silent witness to change, survival, and the passage of time.
